Valentine’s Day. Overpriced flowers, packed restaurants. tiny plates that cost wayyy too much. Sound familiar?
After one such year, I had an epiphany. Valentine’s Day means so much more to me than an expensive meal out. It’s about telling my friends and my family how much I love them, being together and sharing a meal, smiling and laughing and sharing together. And so, I started a tradition that has stood the test of time.
Every year, I set a fancy table and make a homemade Valentine meal for my family. Even when our kids were little, I lit candles and set the table with china and silver and fresh flowers, and made a delicious dinner. It was my way of telling them how much I love them. My homemade Valentine dinner has become one of my favorite family traditions, and I wouldn’t celebrate any other way.
And so, we’ve come up with two VALENTINE’S DAY DINNER MENUS that are easy, relatively inexpensive and say I LOVE YOU!
MENU #1
Triple Tomato and Burrata Salad
Sheet Pan Honey Mustard Chicken
MENU #2
Butter Lettuce and Watercress Salad
Balsamic Strawberries over Vanilla Ice Cream
