S U M M E R. Kids are happy. Air is warm. Life is relaxed. And food is fresh. And delicious. And easy. And beautiful. I mean, is there anything prettier than a summer fruit stand? So bring the fruit stand home and turn it into the prettiest Summer Fruit Board.
So easy. So healthy. So pretty. Add a tasty, lime-y yogurt dip to take it over the top, and this beautiful board will disappear in a flash. No dessert needed. This IS dessert. Or dinner. Or lunch. Or afternoon snack.
Sarah and I made this pretty little board while my nephew and his friend were helping us with some yard work. Of course, after we photographed it, we called them in for a taste test. Literally 3 minutes later, that board was taken down. Granted, this was two 18-year old boys, but wow. Very impressive. A whole board of fruit just disappeared. Gone.
Food should be pretty. You eat with your eyes first, of course. But that doesn’t mean it has to be difficult. Yogurt dip? 5 minutes and some stirring. Fruit? Just wash, cut and arrange. No cooking. No pots and pans. Just an easy peasy pretty load of summer goodness on a platter.
So go to the park. Swim. Camp. Take a nap in the grass. Play more. Smile. Breathe. Go barefoot. Churn ice cream. Grill stuff. Make an easy peasy pretty summer fruit board. Often.
