OH. MY. GOODNESS. This Pina Colada Protein Shake started with a quest to make our own copycat Dole Whip and ended with us scraping the blender to get every little teeny tiny spoonful of this golden delicious goodness! #obsessed.
How do you feel about shakes? We’ve got this local shake place called Nielsen’s Frozen Custard. Nielsen’s is THE BEST. Any time, day or night, you’ll find a huge string of cars waiting in the drive-through line, and the parking lot is always full.
When our kids were little, our school carpool went right past Nielsen’s, and of course, the kids worked HARD on the moms to stop for shakes on the way home. More often than not, I’d give in, not necessarily because I’m such a good mom, but because I secretly wanted one, too. The Chocolate Caramel Pecan Concrete…come on. There is seriously nothing better on a hot day. Currently drooling.
So the Pina Colada Protein Shake is nothing like Neilsen’s. Ha ha. But if you don’t have a Nielsen’s near you (sad), if you’re trying to eat a little bit healthier, if you can’t eat dairy, if you’re just craving something sweet and cold and refreshing and yummy…THIS IS IT. Like a pina colada, only better. Bring on the summer heat…we’re ready!
