Chocolate Raspberry Protein Smoothie

Chocolate raspberry protein smoothie

Why is it that chocolate and raspberry seem to be the perfect combo? (Second only to chocolate and peanut butter of course…) This smoothie hits. the. spot.

Forget the “smoothies are for breakfast” rule. That rule should be thrown out the window with “waffles are a breakfast food.” Who in their right mind designated waffles for the a.m.? A crazy person who doesn’t like syrup after noon, that’s who.

Truly, this smoothie is a breakfast/afternoon/dinner/midnight snack/post-workout kind of treat. And who wouldn’t want to indulge in a creamy, chocolatey, raspberry-infused smoothie at any and all times of the day?

Too bad that’s not a perfectly-manicured fingernail polish job. Ain’t nobody got time fo that.

Instead, let’s talk protein powder.

Protein powder can get confusing with the ten million different brands, types and flavors out there. You can find some awesome CLEAN protein powders, but many aren’t so great. They’re often filled with chemicals, preservatives, added sugar, denatured proteins and other scary additives we don’t want in our bodies.

I like to use Orgain’s plant-based protein powder because it’s all natural, has no added sugar, no GMOs and no artificial ingredients.

Hooray for delicious smoothies at all times of the day! Double hooray for smoothies with CLEAN chocolate fudge protein powder and fresh raspberry goodness.

Chocolate Raspberry Protein Shake

Yield: 1 shake

Calories per serving: 215

Ingredients

  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder (I recommend Orgain's Creamy Chocolate Fudge)
  • Half of a frozen banana
  • 4-6 ice cubes
  • 1/2 cup milk (any type of milk will work)
  • 1/2 cup fresh raspberries

Instructions

  1. Combine everything in a high-powered blender and mix until smooth.

Notes

If your blender has a hard time mixing everything up, try crushing the ice cubes and banana first, and then add the rest of the ingredients. If it still struggles, add a little more milk.

I made this using a different chocolate protein powder that I had on hand and it was delicious. Made it as written except for increasing raspberries to a cup and used almond milk. Highly recommend.
