Chocolate Fondue

This Chocolate Fondue recipe combines rich chocolate with cream and vanilla for a silky, smooth fondue ready for dipping berries, fruit or cookies.
I still remember the first time I learned about chocolate fountains full of chocolate fondue. And no, it didn’t involve Willy Wonka or a golden ticket. Although that would have taken my childhood happiness level up a notch…

My grandma had invited us to a buffet at Little America, a nice restaurant in downtown Salt Lake City. My 6-year-old self was all dressed up in bows and boots and as I stood in line with my family, I got a glimpse into the dining room. And there it was…a chocolate fountain….sitting on the table in all its chocolaty goodness. I was speechless. A fountain of chocolate? To dip delicious things in? I’d died and gone to heaven.

Valentine’s Day is the one day that it’s completely acceptable to be found elbow-deep in a bowl of warm, silky chocolate. So take advantage! This chocolate fondue recipe only takes THREE ingredients and about 5 minutes of your time to make. Is there even a question if you need this in your life? I’ll tell you right now. You need this in your life.

Another great thing about this treat…you can get incredibly creative with things to dip. You’ll never go wrong with berries and bananas, but think where it could go from there…coconut macaroons, graham crackers, cookies, potato chips…yes, I went there.

This Valentine’s Day, give yourself and those you love a reason to celebrate. Because chocolate-covered fingers, faces and floors are definitely worth celebrating.

Fondue. OMG how I adore it! The one fondue restaurant nearby is hugely $$$$ and I can’t figure out why–we’re doing the cooking! I love this post. Where did my old fondue pot go?

Carol, I’m so glad you agree! Fondue is such a fun meal/dessert and it’s always overpriced at the store. Yippeee for homemade fondue!
